Bom, não é para alarmar ninguém, mas encontrei este artigo, já velhinho com o top ten dos carros mais quentes para serem furtados...
Este artigo é já de 2004...

Is your car a target?
Helen Loveless, This is Money

DO you dream of a gleaming new sports car but make do with an older car instead because you are worried about having it stolen?

If so, you may be wasting your time, and even putting yourself more at risk from car thieves, according to research from insurer Churchill, which found that older cars were more likely to be stolen than new cars.

Hondas and Vauxhall's feature prominently on its list of the top ten cars most likely to be stolen (see below). Those least likely to be stolen include more upmarket marques including the sporty BMW Z3.

Churchill says its report shows a real difference between the models and ages of cars and the likelihood of their being stolen.

Darren McCauley at Churchill says: 'Our claims experience shows that many of the cars in the list are not necessarily stolen for re-sale, but because they are easy targets, due to less sophisticated security systems.'

Worryingly many people don't realise that if their car is stolen they will lose their no-claims bonus, assuming that because the claim was not their fault they will still be covered.

Unfortunately this is not the case and with claims costing drivers around £400 on average, through lost no-claims bonuses, it could prove more expensive than expected.

One option is to protect your no-claims bonus. By paying a slightly higher premium most insurers will allow policyholders to make a limited number of claims without losing their no-claims bonus.

If you take the protected option with either Churchill or Direct Line you can make a single claim in any single policy year, and up to two claims in any three consecutive policy years. Churchill says this would add up to 15% to the cost of insurance and Direct Line quotes an extra 17%.

Insurer More Than offers a protected no-claims bonus, which allows drivers to make an unlimited number of claims and still keep the no-claims bonus. More Than says this would add about 7% to its average annual premium of £300.

Don't forget to shop around. Car insurance can differ hugely in price and even with a no-claims discount you may be able to save a lot of money by moving to another insurer. You can also swap no-claims bonuses between insurers.
